Working Procedure of Xinwang Threading Machine
When the threading machine is in operation, insert the pipe to be threaded into the pipe chuck and lock it by impact. Press the start switch to make the pipe rotate along with the chuck. Adjust the opening size of the dies on the die head and set the thread length. Then turn the feed handwheel clockwise to press the dies on the die head firmly against the end of the rotating pipe at a constant force. The dies will automatically cut and thread the pipe, while the cooling system sprays oil to cool the dies automatically. When the thread reaches the preset length, the dies will open automatically to finish threading. Cut off the power supply, unlock the chuck and take out the pipe.
The threading machine is also equipped with a pipe cutting function: insert the pipe into the pipe chuck and lock it by impact, start the switch, lower the cutter rest on the feeding assembly, turn the feed handwheel to move the blade on the cutter rest to the target cutting position, and gradually twist the handle on the cutter to press the blade against the rotating pipe. The pipe will be cut off by extrusion after rotating 4 to 5 turns.
Machine Models
Common threading machine models are listed below:
2-inch threading machine (Model 50): Machining range 1/2"-2" (inch); the range can be extended to 1/4"-2" (inch) with extra dies
3-inch threading machine (Model 80): Machining range 1/2"-3" (inch)
4-inch threading machine (Model 100): Machining range 1/2"-4" (inch)
6-inch threading machine (Model 150): Machining range 2 1/2"-6" (inch)
Dies are the most common wearing parts for threading machines, with different specifications for distinct thread types:
Classification by Pitch
British Standard Pipe Taper dies (BSPT)
National Pipe Taper dies (NPT)
Metric dies (METRIC)
Classification by Size (Inch)
1/4"-3/8" (2-point to 3-point dies)
1/2"-3/4" (4-point to 6-point dies)
1"-2" (1-inch to 2-inch dies)
2 1/2"-3" (2.5-inch to 3-inch dies)
2 1/2"-4" (2.5-inch to 4-inch dies)
5"-6" (5-inch to 6-inch dies)
Classification by Die Material
Tool steel dies: For threading galvanized pipes, seamless steel pipes, round steel bars, copper and aluminum materials
High-speed steel dies: For threading stainless steel pipes and stainless steel round bars
Additional parameters:
British Standard Pipe Taper (BSPT) dies feature a 55° thread angle
National Pipe Taper (NPT) dies feature a 60° thread angle
